Song we are learning :-)

Hi 2G. As promised here is the link for the song we are learning along with the words 🙂 Happy singing 🙂

When a knight won his spurs in the stories of old.

He was gentle and brave he was gallant and bold.

With a shield on his arm and a lance in his hand.

For God and for valor he rode through the land.

No charger have I, and no sword by my side.

Yet still to adventure and battle I ride.

Though back into storyland giants have fled

And the knights are no more and the dragons are dead.

Let faith be my shield and let joy be my steed.

Against the dragons of anger, the ogres of greed

And let me set free with the sword of my youth

From the castle of darkness the power of the truth

World book day 2017

What an amazing time we have had dressing up as our favourite book characters! We had lots of Disney Princesses and Harry Potters come to join us for a very busy day of learning 🙂

Multi-faith week

What an busy time we had in Multi-faith week!! In 2G we looked at different faiths. We were very lucky to visit our development centre and taste food from different faiths. We learn lots of interesting information we didn’t know. We researched all about Mosque’s where Muslim people go to pray and we were very lucky to visit a Mosque . We all had a go at writing our names in Arabic which was trickier than we thought and we were able to wear some clothes that Muslim people might wear when they pray-we all had an amazing time!. We also had a go at building and creating our own Mosque’s using various materials which was very messy but lots of fun!!

Merry Christmas

What a fab Christmas party day we all had. We all enjoyed making our Christmas hats to boogie in. Everyone in key stage 1 came together in the hall to dance and play games and celebrate Christmas. We also enjoyed all the yummy food that parents had sent in-a big thank you to all the parents for supporting this. Lastly we had a very important person  who took time out from the North Pole to visit us and sing songs and bring an early Christmas present 🙂 We all had an amazing time and was a lovely way to finish a very busy term. Thank you for your continued support and from Mrs Goodwin & Miss Kingsley we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Our trip to Staircase House

What an amazing trip we had to Staircase House! We all got to experience what it was like to live in 1666 when the Great Fire of London happened. We took a trip to the very smelly cellar and acted out the story of what happened on the night the fire started in Pudding Lane!!! We learnt lots of interesting facts to help us in our learning.img_0021 img_0026 img_0030 img_0034 img_0040 img_0045 img_0053 img_0089 img_0099 img_0114 img_0119 img_0122 img_0124 img_0004 img_0011 img_0013 img_0019 img_0024 img_0027 img_0041 img_0056 img_0064 img_0066

Hello 2G

Hi and a big welcome to 2G. Mrs Goodwin is the Teacher and Miss Kingsley is the Teaching Assistant. We hope you enjoy your year with us and we will update our blog with all the interesting learning we do in Year 2.

Please ensure you bring your reading book and record every day as we need them 🙂

P.E is on Wednesday morning so please make sure that P.E kits are in every week and for the colder weather you can bring in blue jogging bottoms. Make sure hair is tied up and plasters are  brought in to cover ear-rings

We are lucky to have Commando Dan sessions on Friday so P.E kit is also needed for this.

Please feel free to come and speak to us with any concerns.
